Ways to create, listen, and find your words with me.
I don’t teach people to paint pretty pictures. I help women hear what’s already inside them, using paint, a secondhand canvas, and a whole lot of permission to mess up. No art experience needed.
Online Painting Courses
Learn at your own pace, in your own space. No art experience needed.
Intuitive Painting for Beginners (for Under $10) · Free
Start here. I’ll show you my favorite low-pressure way to begin: a secondhand canvas from a thrift store, a few inexpensive paints, and a “freedom” layer where nothing has to look good. It’s the same method I use for every painting.
Weaving Hope: Spinning Your Web of Creativity and Growth · $29
This three-part mini-course is built around one Bible passage, Romans 5:3–4, which traces a path from suffering to perseverance, to character, and finally to hope. I don’t use it to teach doctrine. I use it to draw out the ancient wisdom it holds. As you paint a humble spider, who uses what’s already inside her to weave a web that both protects and provides, you’ll explore how we can weave our own way from suffering to hope.
A Place for Him: An Advent Painting Journey of Anticipation and Hope · $125 (regularly $222)
Instead of opening a little box each day of Advent, make a little room in your heart. Over 24 short lessons, you’ll reflect on the true meaning of the season and, layer by layer, paint the Holy Family by Christmas. Advent begins November 29.
Workshops, Retreats & Speaking
Bring creative wellness to your group.
I love teaching in person, in the space you’ve already created. I lead my layered, intuitive painting practice, Painting to Find the Words, for groups who are carrying something they don’t yet have words for: seasons of loss, change, caregiving, or simply wondering who am I now?
Workshops: half-day or full-day painting experiences for churches, women’s groups, wellness centers, and grief and transition groups
Retreat facilitation: I’ll lead a creative session or a series within your retreat, and you handle the hosting
Speaking: talks on creativity as wellness, recovering your voice, and why art doesn’t have to be “good” to change your life
As a former special education teacher and social worker, I know how to hold space gently. No one needs any art experience. Everyone leaves with a painting, and often with a few words they didn’t have when they came in.
Words: Creative Connections
Stories from the studio, once a month.
Each month I share a new painting and what it’s teaching me about grief, change, faith, and finding my own voice. It’s the place I’m most honest, and where readers write back to say, “me too.”

Coming soon: my book, Flourish
I’m writing a memoir about how painting helped me find my voice again, and how it can help you find yours. Newsletter readers will be the first to hear when it’s ready.
Prints & Art Gifts: Coming Soon
Bring a painting home.
I’m preparing prints and gifts of my paintings, each with the story or message behind it. Join Creative Connections to be the first to know when the shop opens.
